Paul Rovey was born and raised on the dairy farm that he now manages. His parents, Emil and Helen, started the Rovey Dairy in 1943 with 60 cows. Paul took over management of the dairy operation after studying Animal Science at the Univeristy of Arizona. The dairy presently has 500 cows and plans to increase the herd to 600 by spring 1980.
Paul met his lovely wife, Debbie, in high school. While Paul was at the University of Arizona, Debbie attended Glendale Community College, taking classes in Physical Education and Agriculture. She began working for Rovey Dairy in 1977 keeping D.H.I.A. records. They were married in October 1978.
The Roveys enjoy team roping, water and snow skiing. Paul also enjoys flying and has his private pilot’s licence. Debbie’s other special activities are macrame and ceramics.
Three Cheese Chicken Casserole
1 8 oz. package wide noodles
1 diced chicken
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup green pepper
1 can mushroom soup
1 cup milk
2 cups cottage cheese
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar
Cook and drain noodles. Boil, cool, and cut chicken into small pieces. In small saucepan melt butter; saute onion and green pepper, the soup, milk, and pimiento. In 9×13 inch pan, layer ingredients by putting 1/2 of the noodles, layer of chicken, 1/2 of the cottage cheese and grated sharp cheddar. Cover with half soup mixture. Repeat the second layer. Sprinkle with grated American or Parmesan cheese. Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees.
